It's very hot & dry where I live I put the plant outside at 6am every morning and by 12 noon if I stick my finger 2 inches in it is completely dry. Still say I am watering to much?

I water my plant everyday before I put it outside in the sun all day I live in California where the weather is pretty hot this time of year so far so good but the last 2 days my plant leaves seem to be drooping am I giving it to much water or is there something else I am doing wrong? PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have a 7wk. old plant which has some little buds growing on it & I'd like to know if I can cut a bud or two off to try it out and if so where should I cut it from or does it matter? This is the first plant I've ever grown and know nothing about growing them so please HELP!!!:) Thank You!!!
