butane extraction yeilds

annnyone here a wizard with the Butane extraction method?
after researching it seems one can expect anywhere from 1-5 grams of oil...depending on if your using bud or stem/trim
well i got a pound and a half from some dried plants i just never processed bud , stem.. everything.
went out and bought a honey bee extractor, why the hell am i only getting hald a gram. i used two BIG cans for the second ounce and got a whopping .7 of a gram. what am i missing

plant material should be pretty fine. do not pack it in plastic too tightly. more than that it depends on content of material. and it should be very dry. nothing else to it.

I appreciate the reply, exacty and I'm doing all those things. Maybe it's just really bad material.

If the material is too old then most of the essential oils will have evaporated. I prefer to keep bud in jars and in the refri.

Ya, it's well over a year old so that would make sense
