Changing Lights?

I have a current grow going. I'm using a 1000 watt hps on a light rail. The grow area is 4X4X8. The hood is air cooled, using can filter for smell.I have air being blown in from outside to cool room, everything is going well.I've been thinking of using a 600 watt light instead. The ladies are 6 weeks into flowering and I'm wondering how much effect it would have on them if I switched now.By switching I could save on ele. bill and on fan usage as well.The one thing is I don't want to affect the ladies. Any good insite out there?

I would think that they would stretch more and maybe less denser buds.

if you are 6 weeks in flower,i would not change anything now.if you want to go with a 600,i would wait until the next grow.jmo
