Kelly Clarkson: Cannabis activist?
The pop singer and American Idol alum spoke with Rolling Stone this week about what she sees as marijuanas unjust reputation and federally illegal classification especially in a world of legal benzos and booze.
Im not even a pothead, Clarkson told Rolling Stone. I just think its funny that we legalize something as destructive as alcohol or pills and not (marijuana).
Dont get me wrong, I love me some alcohol, but I dont know anybody in rehab because of pot. And I know a ton of people that have died either from liver cancer or behind the wheel. We legalize things that are so disturbing for our bodies, but one thats completely fine, we say, No, thats bad for you. Im like, Okay, enjoy your scotch. Enjoy your Xanax.'
The magazine also asked Clarkson who she was leaning toward for next years presidential election, and the stars choice was clear.
Im a fan of Hillary. Shes badass, Clarkson said. I dont just want a woman to win, I want the right person. And I think shes also that.
