I've been told that LEO (FLIR'ing w/ heli's) can't enter military flight lines. Is this true or just a myth?

In America:

I know that FLIR has been ruled an invasion of privacy, and a warrant must be obtained.

Plus the cost of the equipment, pilot, fuel, and enforcement is not something that any local economy can deal with at the moment.

But, to answer your OP... the civilian sector cannot enter federal military airspace without a pre-approved flight plan (again needing a warrant to state reasoning). In reality it is much easier/cost effective to stake-out a possible grow, obtain a warrant, and enter the location.

Yo Ho Ho N,

OGK is absolutely correct. I fly both rotary, and fixed wing, and thus I do know that one does not enter military airspace, and good luck getting permission, not gonna happen, and I would be shocked if someone did obtain said permission.
I strayed into an MOA, ( Military Operations Area ) way back when I was a student pilot almost 20 years ago, and was escorted promptly out of the area by a small military jet that made continues passes by me until I was outside their boundaries, then the pink slip in the mail from the FAA, that stated I was grounded pending further investigation as to what had occurred. I was lucky that I was just a student at the time, and that was probably what saved my bacon.
The military are an entity unto themselves, and they don't give a particular **** even if it was the feds, they would just as soon shoot their butts right out of the air...LOL, I would just feel so complete though if I got to see that happen...LMAO.
