My buddy was using those exact lights but just switched to cfls because you could get more lumens with them in a tighter spot. He said the fixtures got too hot to do any real growing with. Those are probably best used for seedlings or clones. Stick with cfl or hid.

You'll still have to wire t8/t12 fixtures, they need plugs too!

They don't get anywhere near as hot as HID. You can keep them within a few inches of your plants. You'll need a lot of them to do a full grow though, I'd agree with bombbud that they're best for seedlings/clones.
