With proper lighting, buds should be hard or dense, right? Ok so I have gone fromharvestig on all floros to HPS. BIG difference in yeild and size.

Before harvest my buds are super hard and fat. During my drying cycle they loosen up and shrink. Now I know that they will shrink due to water mass, but why and how can I do this better to keep them firm??

Id like to hear from everyone, but also Stoney Bud, and TBG.

from what i learned here, basically youre drying your water out of your buds which is something like 70% (maybe but close) water. so no matter what you do you are still going to loose a lot of the bud after drying..

How are you drying them in the first place?

Bud density has alot to do with the strain you are growing, do you know what strain you have?
If the buds seem big and fat after harvest then you have done all you can
some buds are not as hard as others.

At the moment I am drying Grape Ape. I hang dry them in a cool dark place for a few days then put them on a screen for the rest of the time, then into a jar.
