Tall and skinny plant

I have a closet that is 6 feet wide but only about 2 feet deep. On my last grow I flowered 3 plants side by side but they ran into the back wall and the closet door. But I had extra space on the sides.

On my next grow, I would like to have 4 girls side by side but grow them more vertical.

Is there a way to get my plants to grow several top colas close together and avoid all of the lateral and bottom branching?
