a veg room of 3ft x 6ft x 5ft height, mh or 6-8 flouresent t5 tubes 5ft long. looking to light the entire space

IMO go with HPS 600 + 400 watts 2 lights total 1000watts since you have height restrictions this would light up your room pretty well and you can use it in vegging and flowering, you can also get the ballasts that light both MH and HPS and get both kind of bulbs MH for vegging and HPS for flowering.

I would go with the 8 tube, 4 feet long t-5's

I would go with the T5s, also. I have 2 400W MH that I do not use any more because I like the T5s so much better for vegging.

oh right it's only a veg room, sorry i assumed you'll be flowering in the same room, my mistake, ye i'll get t5's for this too less heat issues and power consumption very good vor vegging, you dont need the 1000watt for vegging this space, i shouldve read the question more carefully
