Is it possible for a plant to be dis-coloured somewhat if a grow area is too hot?

It most certainly will, but it won't be the only sign you'll see, it'll look like the leaves are narrowing out towards the end and almost getting crispy and yellow.

Most discoloration is from light bleaching, heat stress can also cause leaf edges to roll upwards, both are usually toward the top of the plant or closest to the light.

Got any pictures? How hot are we talking about?

I get light bleach sometimes even when temps are in line.

No pix yet as I dont have a cam,no idea on temps either but, i had my bulb a lil closer (abt 1.3ft) to a single plant I have and noticed since that, a little more yellowing of the lil guy.Now the lil guy has been doing alright right and pointing upwards since I brought the bulb closer but its just the yellowing that's throwing me off..will try to get sum pix soon
