Cloning for beginers

I know cloning is a very easy process, but I was wondering what the exact process is. I have a plant that is 1 2/3 months old and i was wondering if i can clone off of it yet. My plant has not shone me what sex it is yet so im sure ill probablly have to wait until that. Where from the plant do I cut the clone? Do I need that root powder to make the clone take to the soil? What are the downsides of cloning?

Take a clipping now andput it in water ... put it in window sill or under 12/12 lighting you will know sex in a few days..I would find out if its female before wasteing time on a lot of clones...JMO
