probably a dumb question but i gotta know for sure... if i buy a 400w HPS light... if i go get a 400w MH light bulb can i put the bulb in my 400w HPS fixture? just wondering... thanks

Only if it is a switchable ballast. The MH ballast does not use the ignitor that the HPS does. A switchable ballast lets you choose what to light up. You have to use the correct bulb with the ballast.
