Been keeping my egg shells. Mixed some into a batch of soil and used some for a top dressing. Will these actually break down into calcium the plants can use or do I have to make a tea with them?

yes they will break down for sure... I myself use eggshells, but it is a good idea to run them through something like a coffee grinder to pulverize it into a fine powder. I can use this the same way you would use lime.

but does it act the purpose as a ph buffer as lime does? and if your needin to use lime already to balance ph would it still be recommended as a safe ammendment along side the lime?
or is it kinda a one or the other deal woudl ya say?

:ciao: I learned this from the massproducer himself..thanks my friend

Great info gentlemen. Soooo, would it be mixed into the soil in the same quantity as lime. 1tbs/gallon of soil for a ph buffer & calcium booster?
