PH up / down products??

Is it ok to use PH up / PH down products that you get from fish/pet stores??? My water is about 6.8 from the tap but when i add the nutes it goes down to 5.8 - 6.0 so i need to use something. Its a soil grow by the way, advanced nutes-micro,grow,bloom. Ive been trying to keep it at 6.5...........thanks

My friend uses spa water alkaline up with no problems!
