What would be the biggest grow are for a 400w hps? i have room in the basement that is about 4ftx4ft and about 7.5 ft tall. i wasnt sure if a 400w could do 16 sq ft or should i go with a 600w hps for that size space? thanks

400 watts in 16 square feet is 25 watts per square foot and:

600 watts in 16 square feet is 37.5 watts per square foot.

Id say go for the 6 for sure with an air cooled hood to keep the temps down. You'll see your best growth at the inner most 9 square feet.
