I see it all over the place - what is a PPM meter? and would/can I use it on soil grows? I have googled it but...

Hey yumyum, ppm stands for parts per million, it is a measurement of how much nutes you have added to your water, also you can measure your waters ppm's before you add nutes to tell you how much dissolved solids(minerals) are in your water. High ppm before nutes = hard water. Yes you can use one with a soil grow to check the ppm of your nute solution. Hope this helps

if you can only afford 1 meter, get a ph pen to check the ph of your water. for soil, just following nute direction will go a long way. but ph is a whole other story. cheaper too.

your feeding chart should contain an approximate PPM reading for the strength of nutes your using.

I already have a nice Hanna PH meter.... it was more expensive then the PPM meter I am looking at...

Truncheon only makes one ppm meter that I know off. Iy about12-14inches long and blue and white in color. Ill see if I can find a link for ya.

Well I looked at their website and could not find any info on the PPM. I use cutting edge nutrients and my Micro, grow and bloom ppm is around 1000. Maybe try to email them on their website and see what they recommend.
