read in a magazine that a plant should be alive from sprout for atleast 56 days before flowering in order to reach max potential. clones are counted as days from the cutting

I was under the impression that when you see alternating nodes its mature enough to enter flower.
But 56 days seems like enough time to see these nodes, considering all your conditions are right.

clones are ready to floer as soon as they have roots, and yes, the plant is mature when you see alternating nodes

You can put a plant into flower at any time, it's just a question of size/space restrictions. The longer you veg, the bigger the overall product. But if you want an indicator from the plant, as twist-it says, the alternating node growth indicates plant maturity. Thats what I always wait for.

Almost 2 months of veg?? Must be one of those legal marijuana forests where you can have ginormous plants and the sun is your HPS...
Otherwise you want to grow one giant plant and put a couple 1000w HPS lights on it.
You can put a plant into flower at anytime. It just depends on how big you want the plant to get and how much room you have to grow it. And of course, how many lumens of light you have to help it grow.
