I will be starting this year's veggie garden today. Will till and prep the soil today. If I have time early season seads will go in the ground today. Will follow with pictures as things develop.

Some of you in warmer areas are well ahead of me.....so let us see your little peace of heaven.

Started from seed about a month and a half ago, and transplanted into the garden last weekend. The raised bed has 3 different kinds of tomatoes (black krim, super 100s, and big boy), jalapenos, chocolate habeneros, arugala and radish seeds that haven't sprouted just yet. The herb pot has dill, basil, chamomile and thyme. The wine barrel is a variety of giant pumpkin. The pumpkin didn't take to the transplant as well as everything else, the new growth is very yellow and I'm not sure why.

Also have a couple other wine barrels filled with flowers and 2 that have giant sunflower seeds planted in them that haven't popped yet.

Nice gmo...where are you..still gets below freezing here....I can start underground cold weather seeds here, mid to late may before I can safely plant. I have seen killer frost here as late as early June.

New Mexico. Been growing a veggie garden since I was old enough to walk. I've always had success planting the weekend before the last full week in April.

I have been growing a garden all my life as well. Probably why we grow good weed. I am in the foothills above Denver. Got down to 29f last night. Short growing season here. 6,000 ft. I plant Maters and peppers in pots in early April. People who grow pot outdoor here do the same thing in order to get the plants to harvest in Oct.

Good luck and happy growing. Here is a beet from last year....

Awesome! Here's to a happy and healthy growing season for you, too!

Where I'm at in NM is 5280ft above sea level. Crazy how much of a temp difference there is between our climates! Today high of 77f low of 46f. Tomorrow is 84f/55f.

So, I tilled the garden yesterday. At least I tried. Daumn soil is so soft my tiller sank to the shaft instantly...

Took me 27 years of working the soil to get it in this condition. All my used soil goes in there along with a 30% mixture of perlite. I don't know what is worse....tilling soil for the first time or wrestling with this.

I just leaned on my shovel and it sank about 15" without any downward pressure.

Both inside my fence and outside are tilled and now ready for planting. Will do the cold weather seeds tomorrow.
