    Small grow heater...

ive been watchin the temps in the second bedroom last couple nights and without much heat the room gets to about 40F...these temps should slow down flowering a bunch or am I wrong???

    Small grow heater...

yeah ive seen the little 1500Watt ceramic ones but for a 2ftX3ft space im thinking this is kinda overkill not to mention I dont wanna run anymore power than I have to. Have you seen any say 200W or 500W heaters?

    Small grow heater...

well the HID on 24/7 keeps the temps up to about 80F during the cold months, but I dont have central heating and it gets below freezing some nights so with the lights off 12 hours my babies are gonna freeze

    Small grow heater...

I am looking for a small heater that I can use in my closet grow...right now my HID light keeps it toasty enough on 24/7 but for flowering I will need a small heater. Ive been looking into dog house heaters or reptile heaters...any advise on this heater problem... I really dont wanna use the...

    A question about cloning

According to Jorge Cervantes, leaching the soil will promote carbohydrate buildup in the plants...the carbohydrates are stored energy that can be used by the cutting while roots are growing and little to no nute uptake can occur

thanks for the encouragement slowmo; waiting is definitely the hardest part

    Cloning for sex...

If youve got rooted clones arrangements can be made lol...Ive been waiting a week for these to root and Im getting a little impatient

    Cloning for sex...

Ive read several posts where people have taken clones and sexed them before they rooted...does this work???

    Rooting Clone Light Requirements

Technically speaking, those calculations arent complicated enough; they assume a point source in a far field with no reflection, but lets not get picky. The amount of light your plants receives is based on the light intensity which has the SI units of lux; a given light such as a 50W HID...

CFL'S!! Who uses them and what do you think???

yeah the 400W is probably close to 40,000 lumens

    Rooting Clone Light Requirements

TheEnhancementSmoker Im sure that you have your grow all figured up but for the person that asked the question and many more that havent I figured that they may want to know the math behind all of the "rules-of-thumb" that seem to cloud every light question on this forum. Exact calculations...

    Rooting Clone Light Requirements

That true lotsa calculations to get to the same spot...more light = better...luckily for those less inclined to crunch numbers lamps come in various standard wattages (100,175,250,400,600,1000,...) and generally the same kinds of initial lumens these calculations are pretty much standard...but...

    light per square metre?

the calculations were done using an area of 2m^2 but I miss stated that ...same results though thanks

CFL'S!! Who uses them and what do you think???

You say that you have one bulb over each plant, so to make things easier we will say that each bulbs light is only given to one plant (this is a reasonable assumption because 1) every photon that is absorbed by another plant will be donated from that plants light and 2) light very far from a...

    light per square metre?

Check out my thread... Flowering = 107500 lux distance away = 1ft grow area = 2m^2 then the total intial lumens needed is: P = I*A*d^2=107500*1*2=215000 initial lumens 600W give about 90000 so two will give you a descent yield. Remember though that the plants at the out edge of the...

    Rooting Clone Light Requirements

Check out my post on lighting calculations... 1200 initial lumens If your grow room is 3ftX3ft and you keep the light 3 inches away.... The lux at the plant is: I = P/(A*d^2) I = 1200/(1m^2)*(.25^2) = 9600 lux Which should be more than enough for your cloning project. Of course at the...

    Light requirements...mystery exposed...

For a robust grow it is important to understand that plants require significantly different amounts of light at different stages in life. Correctly sizing an indoor lighting system will lead to lower energy bills and more efficient space usage. Thanks for the question...I should have made that...
