YORK, SC (WBTV) - A woman in York is facing drug charges after police say three men attacked her son during a home invasion Wednesday night.
According to police, three men knocked on door of the 46-year-old Mary Neely's Sunset Drive home around 9:20 p.m. According to the police report, Neely's 19-year-old son opened the door and saw the armed men with black bandanas over their faces. One man had a shotgun, the others were armed with handguns.
One of the men hit the teen in the head with an object, the report states. The teen ran out of the trailer, past the three men, leaving his mother inside the home, police told WBTV.
Police say Neely attempted to get up from where she was seated, but the men told her to "get back [expletive] or I will shoot you!" Police say one of the men fired his gun and the three men ran from the home. According to the report, the men were seen driving away in an older blue Chevrolet.
The report states that the teenager ran to the office of the Meadowbrook Trailer Park and asked the worker to call 911. The mother was unharmed and her son was treated by EMS on scene for a cut on his forehead.
Officers evacuated Neely's neighbors from their homes, not knowing if the men could be back inside the home. When they entered the home, according to the report, officers smelled marijuana.
Neely reportedly asked the officer to get her purse and the officer noticed "a pack of top rolling papers" in the purse and asked for permission to search it. He also found a bag "of green plant material believed to be marijuana."
Neely is expected to turn herself in on Thursday for charges of simple possession of marijuana.
