Current Flowering Grow: Magnolia

I finally decided to start an online grow journal.

To start, this 134 day old plant (unknown strain, calling her “Magnolia”) should not be alive. Many stupid things have happened to her, such as: sprouting the seed in a mixture of clay and horse manure; being moved from house to house 3 different times because of stupid things happening (people getting kicked out, people smoking crack, people not growing in their parents’ house, …); and constantly switching from HID lighting to CFL/LED.

Now that the plant is completely under my control, I think everything has finally been straightened out. She’s currently under HID lighting (in my flowering room) and in a 5 gallon bucket, containing ~½ Canadian sphagnum peat moss, ~¼ perlite, and ~¼ topsoil.

I’m pretty far into flowering (40 days as of 6-17-08), so I’ll explain what’s happened during flowering so far:

1. 5-3-08
   • 36 hours of darkness
2. 5-5-08
   • started flowering under 150 watt HPS
3. 5-15-08
   • added DIY CO2 generator
   • added 6 x 23 watt full spectrum CFLs
4. 6-12-08
   • switched 150w HPS to 400w
   • removed CFLs
