I'm a new grower. Started off with CFL's (still use for veg) and recently updgraded to a 250w HPS for our flowering.

Now we're learning that our 48w flouro isn't really cutting it for the veg state, so are considering buying a 250w MH to match the HPS.

Now the reason for the post really is the place our plants are when in veg state, well, it wouldn't take the heat the HPS gives off that's for sure!

If the same kind of heat from a MH then I guess we'll have to shelve the idea for now.

Would LOVE to get me hands on one now tho! ... :hubba:

Can anyone give me an idea?

Flos work great for veg for me...all i use.
i do run a 400w MH for flower and it gets just as hot as an HPS. IME

mh is inherently "more" heat than an equal watt hps...

Bang goes THAT idea! ... :(

Oh well, one day!

Cheers

What type floros are you using.I have 2 4',2 cool-daylight bulbs only 32 watt per bulb. They rock.Keep em nice and tight.1" above canopy.CAUTION will burn if touching bulb for 2 long....

Look at the T5 fluoros for vegging. I have a 400W MH that I do not use any more because I like the T5 so much. A 54W tube puts out 5000 lumens--the best of any fluoros.
