help to calculate grow space

hi guys and girls its been a while for me on hear. but i bad to break down shop do to mites but now i finally rebult and wanted to rember the right calculation for light per square foot.

5k+ lumens per foot off the top of my head ?

ok i got a 6x6x3=108
i have a 1000 watt ballast and bulb both metal halide and hps.
so that spoken i am goin to need 5 1000 watt ballast to do my room

A 1000W light is good for about 25-30 sq ft.

My space is 4.5' x 8' so I work out sqft wise as you do at 36sqft. I'm running two 600watters with pretty decent results. There is also the old school method of 30-50 watts per sqft. You'll need a little more than a 1000 watt IMO. Good luck and keep it cool in there.

wicked link, thanks Hippy judging by them calculations i am 270 watts over the max :s i did wonder why it got so hot in my grow room
