hps bulb in mh ballast?

wow haven't seen those...must be new. I have only seen MH conversion bulbs not HPS. might look at those.
 
i see that the bulb is 360 Watt. i have a 400W Metal Halide ballast.

i wonder if that would work?
 
the conversion bulbs are more expensive... and typically give out less lumens then an equivelent hps or mh bulb.
 
Conversion bulbs have been around for a few years now. IMO they aren't worth it considering there are nice bulbs out like the Eye Hortilux's that have added blue and you can use em throughout veg and flower.

Conversion bulbs are inefficient, and really no longer necessary.
Get a horticultural HPS and be done with it.More lumens, better light penetration, and as long as you keep it low stretching is nill in veg.

To answer your ? though. yes you can use the 360w conversion in the 400Hps ballast. It's made for it.

That's one of the problems though as the unused 40w gets turned into heat by the ballast, thus raising room temps.
