how strong a light is needed for a small 3x3x5 room to keep a couple small mothers an maybe 10 to 15 clones??

look at t5..a 8 bulb fixture would work well..its lumes are same as a 400MH

Best of luck

You would need to go with a 2' T5 in a 3 x 3 space. And the 2' tubes only put out 2000 lumens. So a 2' 8 tube T5 would be 16,000 lumens--not sure if that would be enough. The PLL55 double tubes put out 5000 lumens, so a 4 tube PLL would be a little better at 20,000 lumens and get you close to 3000 lumens per sq ft.

If it's for clones and mother keeping, not for full vegging, the 2' will work fine. You're not trying to full veg these, just store them right?

yeah,..just to keep mothers in,..an clones till there rooted nuff to put in dirt

I find if mothers are put into light that is not strong enough, they tend to stretch. You may find little price difference between a 2' 8 tube fixture and a 4 tube PLL.

can clones be taken from flowering plants close to harvest maturity,...if so then building a mother room might be a mute point...

The further into flower the harder it is to get them to throw roots.

Yes you can but in my experience it is easier and faster to reveg the plant. cloning a budded plant will take 6+ weeks before you see good roots, and with most revegs you see new growth at the 4 week mark.

clones can be taken during flowering but it is not reliable to do it. growers with no mother plants usually take clones from vegging plants before they begin flowering
