im a first time grower i would like to know from when your seeds come up how long before you are to put them in a bigger pot

OK well how old are your plants are they just sprouts or have they been in a potter for a while now and what size is the potter you have them in

and if you got access to something to take pictures, that's the best ;)

no i dont have a cam they are about 8days old i got some under a 400 mh are they to young

they are growing kind of slow thin and long just got some bio grow and bloom hope it works just learning

at any rate, they are too young to transplant at the moment if they are in adequately sized containers already - how big r the pots they are in now?... and how far away is the light from the plants?... have you got ventilation set up already?... at least some kind of airflow? what r the growing room conditions? dimensions?

its going to be hard to help with out some more info here a link that should help out [thread=9396]MPgrowguide[/thread]

i have a fan in their the lights are about 1 and half from the plants 3feet wide and 5 feet long and 8 feet high it a closet i also have a 400 hps can i grow with both at the same time

Just wait untill you see roots coming out the holes on the bottom of your container, or untill u can see roots in the holes. you want to transplant everytime your container is full of roots. you want the roots to wrap all the way around the bottom and back up, before you transplant.
roots grow down first, then hit bottom and change direction. it wraps around the bottom edge of the container, then works its way up. so when u see them at the bottom, make sure there at the top too. chances are, if roots are comming out the holes, its time.
hope this helps.

and i would just use the hps

nope... stick with the MH for now - it has a better light spectrum for vegging - switch to the HPS when you want to flower.

and like he/she said about when to transplant...u'll know just by the size and look of the plant when it starts to get rootbound... I mean... if it starts drinking like crazy, chances are it needs to get replanted.

but that's just me....:**:

lights are about 1 and a half what away from the plants,? inches.? feet,?,yards?

The way I've been doing it lately, I start my seeds in the paper towel. Once they have cracked and show their roots to me I put them into 1" rockwool cubes. When the roots start coming out of the bottom of the cubes, I move them into 16 oz. cups. They generally stay in the cups about 2-3 weeks, when I see the roots have developed enough to be seen (upon pulling them out of the cups) all the way around the inside of the cup, I put them into the final pot (12 liter buckets). This has generally worked well for me...

Peace...j.b.
