Your plants growth is directly related to the size of its root mass. Just like you can have 2 foot tall 60 year old redwoods bonsais, you can have a 6 inch tall MJ plant that is 3 months old if you use a pot that is small enough. If you are gonna veg a plant for a few months, its roots are gonna get huge if they have an area to grow unrestricted, probably much more than you can handle inside. Also remember that when your plant goes nto flowering, it wil increase in size by 2 to 3 times. Really though, there isn't any reason to veg a plant indoors for a few months, it will either:
A. fill up its container with roots and basically stop growing as the root have no more room
B. get way too big for indoors
Larger plants WILL produce more buds, but that doesn't matter if you plants grow into your lights and get burnt up.
