Long time reader, first time poster. Just looking for some opinions really.

My grow is 7 and a half weeks in from seed, light cycle on 18/6 I have some pre flowers coming up but also some weird things appearing. I think they are Pollen sacks. Yep... a little lost. There is 6 plants and two are showing some of these signs. I have a photo or two to add to the post to help get some options and opinions on weather I should pull these two plants. Feel free to offer any insight team, really want to have success with this indoor grow this round :)

yep boy parts - looks like could be moph you sure your light is 18-6 unusual for a plant to show its self until its in flower mode when light is reduced

Not actually unusual at all for plants to show preflowers before the light flip. If you veg long enough, virtually all strains will show sex before 12/12.

However, I believe that you have hermies there, not males. Where did you get the seeds? Were these bagseed?

Yeah mate they are Bagseed I haven’t dabbled in seed banks yet. So I planted 8 hoping for 2-4 females. I have removed the said plant but am worried the others may have been affected. I did loose power while at work for two hours a week ago and wondered if the stress caused it and am hoping I can get a couple to toe me over until start of grow season in 8 weeks or so. Here’s some more photos of the others O still have left. Any opinions and advise appreciated and thanks for the input thus far.

Yep since seed but I did have a power out for two hours the other day while I was at work certainly didn’t help there stress

I don't do seed mainly clone so I very rarely see any change before I flip , but HG ses its normal for them to pre flower so I would take that as fact , I don't think a couple hrs of dark would cause a plant to moph ( hermie as its called on the otherside LOL ) I would say just bad seed stock pull them out and keep on track with the others good luck , cant wait to see some bud porn from you in couple months

Thanks matey, hoping to see the same will definitely post them up!

I'm going to shout this: THIS IS WHY IT IS A BAD IDEA TO USE BAGSEED! Bagseed is almost always the result of the plant selfing--a very undesireable thing. When this happens, the resulting seeds are genetically predisposed to hermying. Unfortunately, I would expect that the others will likely hermy also.

The light going out during the day does not cause stress and does not cause hermies--it is intyerruptions of the dark period that causes hermies. However, plants that come from hermy seeds will hermy with little to no stress as that is now part of their genetic makeup. Keep a close eye on them and get rid of any plant that shows pollen sacs. And get ordering some quality seeds from a reputable breeder or reseller. Your time should be valuable enough to you that wasting 7-1/2 weeks with hermy stock will make you see the value of good genetics.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thankyou for the feedback. We grow this seed in our garden every year and have had a very good success rate with them outside but have struggled to get them to take in a tent. There have been other issues also with the light height being too high for a day before adjusted also.

Have removed another two tonight and only have the 3 left and they are also showing early signs of males or hermies.

I want to keep going where I can but I’m not sure if the last 3 are going to work either now. I’m keen to hit the seed banks but have seen people also have problems with them and didn’t wanna go that road until I was confident we had everything else right. Heat, Height, Air flow and Humidity. The height has been a issue and I’m wondering if that could of also turnt them. Here’s the last 3 attached. And also son close ups of the two I removed.

Any advice for a good seed bank and strain for a Tasmanian grower?

I used, bagweed seeds too. And yes, we shouldn't be using bagweed seeds however, its sometimes just what we have! THG can be blunt and to the point sometimes, but with much thanks! All in, I have had a great success with bagweed. Just look at my plants. I think you maybe are seeing some preflowers. Give them a little more time. My plants were showing signs after just day one of flower, yes that is right, first day of flower! Give them a chance to fully lift that skirt up, lol! Good luck and keep us posted! Provide plenty of TLC, my main ingredient in my grow room, and they will love ya back!

But don't you all see how using bagseed is helping the proliferation of hermies? Anytime you let hermies go and release pollen, you're causing/creating more hermies. Hermies are a blight on cannabis genetics and we really need to do all we can to stop this.

Good seeds are not that expensive and if you cannot afford good genetics, maybe you should rethink growing. If I wanted a drink and I was broke, I wouldn't be for buying MD 20/20 just so I had something to drink....

Is it true that pollen from a hermie crossed with a normal female gives you feminised seeds ?

We get it mate, won’t change people growing with what they have while learning, you need to understand our point of view also.

Where did weed originally come from? Ground seed.

Speak to American farmers who had their harvested seeds taken from them and are now forced to buy seed to replant from a big corporations that own the the modified gene seed.

Bag seed is not evil, it’s just harder. I’ve had some Hermies in my outside garden from bag seed , pulled them and the remaining have been successful with no issues at all, and then replanted the following year and not get any hermies?

I also see autos and Feminized seeds do the same ish in tents this forum has plenty with those stories... I know why your drumming the drum but I think it’s well and truly over the top and verging on paranoid.

We grow every year in the garden with great success but since moving to tents in the winter we have had issues. I’m not blaming the seed just yet as I’ve had both wins and loses from this certain seed.

Anywho... again I enjoy the chats and differences of opinion as what works for one May fail for another.

Two left signs are not great...

some strains that go well outside don't perform inside, I have also had great success with bag seed outside but no so good inside

Bagseed is evil. And I am about one of the least paranoid people you will find. Bagseed and hermies are a blight on cannabis. You talk of farmers---there is a reason that, say, potatoe farmers use seed potatoes rather than just planting old potatoes from last year harvest...they carry disease and blight.

Very true.

Who do you recommend for a a reliable seed bank to buy from HG?
