In the January issue of Neuropharmacology, which happens to have a marijuana theme, two teams of researchers tried to explain what causes some people to feel relaxed when they smoke weed while others get a paranoid high.

Wired has explained those articles. Check it out!

Do you think that there is something in bad weed that causes paranoia and does good weed not have that stuff?

I think the paranoia is a result of THC reaching that part of the brain which is shown to cause it - but - the paranoia itself is a controllable reaction, I think.
Kind of like looking down from a great height. That will cause a brain reaction that has a liklihood of producing fear, but with experience and caution it can be enjoyable also.
And it does seem that certain types of weed effect that part of the brain, for whatever reason. Commercial seems more paranoid. Maybe something to do with the THC breakdown that occurs with commercial weed?

If what they have in the picture is what was used in these tests, then it is small wonder that the mice were paranoid...it looks like brokedown schwags...

Peace...j.b.
