    Larger leaves spots, brown tips

    Alright, I used a soil pH test kit (the kind where you put some of the soil from ~3" in the pot into the test container, add some powder from provided capsules, add water and shake) and came out with a pH of 7, maybe a little lower. pH 7 is indicated as a light green while 6.5 is a darker...

    Larger leaves spots, brown tips

    I haven't been feeding it nutrients once a week. More like once every 1.5 - 2 weeks. This problem has been having pretty gradually, I think. I didn't really take too much notice of it since it was only happening to a few of the leaves and 90% of the plant looks great. :D I'll flush the...

    Larger leaves spots, brown tips

    The soil I'm using is Roots Organics by Aurora Innovations. As far as pH goes, from reading the POS 2-probe thing I got that reads light intensity, moisture and pH reader it was reading in the 7.x range. I was going to go and get some liquid pH tester (maybe the General Hydroponics pH tester...

    Larger leaves spots, brown tips

    Ah sorry, when I said "ditto", I was referring to the same answer as the previous question. The soil I'm using is an organic mix bought from the hydroponics store. Has perlite in it. Haven't been using MG as nutrient, only organic nutrients.

    Larger leaves spots, brown tips

    Hey all, I've been running into a small problem that doesn't seem too bad right now. Some of the larger leaves, and a couple of the smaller ones, start to get little brown spots on the leaves, then begin to form brown tips that curl up. Eventually they turn all yellow and die. I was thinking...

    Splicing ballast --> socket cable

    I ended up going on your recommendation, Don, and making a male-male cord with female plugs on the ballast/socket ends. The cord I used was a couple times thicker than the ballast->socket cord. The ballast->socket cord has three wires, one of which is a ground that is attached to the...

    Splicing ballast --> socket cable

    The cord going from the light socket plugging into the ballast reads "10A 250V~". I'm assuming that means any connectors I use should be rated for at least that voltage/amperage. The connectors on Harbor's website are rated only to 125V 15A. I'll check out the local hardware stores around...

    Splicing ballast --> socket cable

    Thanks for the info Don! Is splicing a 3 wire cord that bad? I understand that it'll lead to a very thick diameter section at the joining parts, but aside from that as long as it is electrically insulated it should be alright. Do you think that soldering the leads in addition to heatshrink...

    Splicing ballast --> socket cable

    Dang those lock sockets are expensive! :eek: I'd be paying like $35 for an extension cord. I suppose there is no other option... I knew I should have shelled out a little more money and bought my light from somewhere like HTG lol.... Oh well, not that big of a deal. I don't suppose soldering...

    Have one WW plant, what would you do?

    Thank you good sir, that's a good way to put it. Patience truly is a virtue of growing:D. Cloning was my original course of action, but I started having doubts about the quality of the plant. It seems to be pulling through pretty strong now. I transplanted it into a larger pot a week ago...

    Have one WW plant, what would you do?

    So right now I'm working on a single White Widow that a friend gave to me, and right now it is looking pretty healthy. I'm unsure of the quality of the plant, so I was debating whether I should attempt to clone it, or start from scratch with some seeds of a different strain? The amount of...

    Splicing ballast --> socket cable

    Hey everyone, This isn't particularly urgent at the moment but it is kinda annoying. The HID light system I bought was more or less meant to have the ballast attached to the reflector. This is kinda foolish since I'm growing in a tent and the heat generated would make things quite hot in...

    Whats goin' down?

    Good to know that they don't need too much in terms of food. I've only given it food once since I've had it, and watered only a few times. It's looking a little wilty right now, but that's likely because of poor circulation in the tent (have a 6-inch fan coming Monday). Temperature and...

    Whats goin' down?

    Whats up fellas!?(and ladies) :guitar: Just joined the forum (and growing, for that matter) and wanted to give a holla out to everyone. I've been doing extensive research for the past month or so but have only begun the journey that is cannabis cultivation in the last week. My goal is a...
