plants have been on 12/12 for 12 days and nothing, why?

Hey everyone,
I just started growing Big Bud in my basement:

I have had two moms grown from seeds, they vegged for 4 weeks and i changed the light cycle from 16/8 to 12/12. The 1000 HPs (lots of ventiliation though) has been on 12/12 for 12 days now and i havnt seen any signs of budding.

Any reasons that might take them so long to bud? whats the longest it should take?

Some plants switch over faster then others. I do a period of 14/10 for a week before swapping to 12/12.

May also want to make sure that no light is available during your dark period.

I also wouldn't expect budding yet but looking at the nodes you'll start to see the start of the sexing of the plants.

patience is a virtue my friend. On my first grow I was so eager scanning everyday for signs of buds. But when it comes down to it from my experience it took almost 3 weeks for my girls to show. So i think the longer it takes to show is good because girls take more time than boys. Then you will begin to see explosive bud growth around 4-5 weeks. Right now you should be in the stretch. Hey you got any pics,I love bud porn.

:yeahthat: just a waiting game bro! I had a plant take 18 days to show sex/preflowering. So just hang in there, leave it on 12/12 and be patient.

The fact they've gone this long without showing sex increases your chances of females! Males will generally show their balls by now! Good luck and green mojo to you!

yup my hazes took 3 weeks to show there first pistles. had one plant not a haze that showed pistles when i turned lights down from 24 to 18/6.

On my grow I have going now I have Papaya, Blue Mystic and White widow all were vegged 4 weeks. The Papaya showed sex within the 1st 48 hrs the Blue and the White took 10+ days to show sex. But I had some K2 that took 3 weeks to show sex some plants are slower than others...take care..

looked 50/50 leafs where not 2 skiny. not like my skiny silver haze witch is all most all sativa an they took 3 weeks to sex.

The buds started to show yesterday! So they took about 15 days to start.
