35W HPS for 30$

I went to my local hardware store and saw a 35W HPS outdoor light for 30$.

I'm currently growing under about 230 watts of CFL in a space that's about 2.5 square feet. Would one or 2 of these light be good for supplemental lighting? Would they make a difference considering how much CFL wattage I have?

35 watts HPS isn't enough on it's own for even 1 plant.
As to whether or not ikt's enough when combined with other lights, adde the lumens. You want 6000 lumens per sq/ft. min.
How many plants do you have in that 2.5 sq/ft.?

35 watts of HPS is most certainly a beneficial addition to any CFL setup.
