Astronomical Prices!

I was just visiting one of my favorite seed banks(stop buying a long time ago just like to window shop these days) and I've seen a seed company charging the most asinine prices for seeds I've seen in a long time. I'm not going to say who the company is because I'm not meaning to talk bad about them. Basically my question is do you think besides being greedy companies put crazy prices on their beans so not everybody can get them or they cater strictly to commercial growers?

Keep in mind that most of the larger seed suppliers wholesale to distributors, who obviously mark up to the retail outlets, who in turn mark it up to you.

All of the larger sites like Attitude, Herbies, or Single Seed Center all get the majority of their stock from distributors. Seed makers have very little control over end retail price unless they direct drop.
