Clones and determining sex

Just pull off three clones one from each plant. All labeled! 24hrs of light for the clones correct?

Yes, 24-7, not to intense a light. Less light the quicker they will throw roots.

Ok so 24/7 light but not to intense. I am so confused!!! If I want them to throw out roots then wouldnt i want to go dark then light? Honestly I am doing this to see if I can force them to show sex. Do I need to have them rooted first?
