clones kept small

After I root a clone if I keep it in a small pot would it say small and healthy? I heard that a plant wouldn't grow if the roots have no room to grow but is that healthy? Cause I wanna try and keep alot of little clones till I need them if possible.

I suppose you could.... but it will stunt the growth quite a bit... i'm gonna leave any further detail to a older forum user.
