Even though it's not time I have some male pollen questions

I have done some reading on collecting male pollen but I am unsure of a couple things.

1.If I cut the flowering top off and put it in water do I need to maintain 12/12 for the sacs to continue opening?

2.If I pollinate a bud do I have to worry that my fans may blow that pollen off the bud and onto another bud?

3.Does one grain of pollen equal one seed?

1, Just put it on a mirror to dry, drying will make the sacks open and you can see the pollen on the mirror.

2, Yes.

3, Yes.
