GH maxi, how much do you use?

i use the maxi grow/maxi bloom stuff and always found that instead of the recommended "1 tsp/gal" i end up using more like 2 tbsp/gal. anyone else not use the recommended dosage?

I start lite then keep boosting it till they can't take any more.
