I just planted five plants in the ground yesterday morning, and hail storm
(~3/4” size) unexpectedly hit in the evening. Lost a couple of branches off these young girls. Storm lasted about an hour.
I ended up placing some 5 gallon buckets over them to aid in some protection. Overall could have been much worse, especially if they were larger, and established.
