Hoppers

I've been havin' a lot of bug prollems all summer...But in the last week after flowering i've noticed a lot more grasshoppers around...What's the best detterant/solution...??? Any help's appreciated...Also, i noticed a big Prayin' Mantis right beside my plant too, that scared the surprised me , scarin' the crap of me , if that makes anyy difference...But if you need anymore info let me know...

I also noticed a small, maybe aphid/mite looking bug coming from under the leaf and excrete a whitish substance on top of the leaf...This has me stumped, and frustrated!
