One of my best friends just got back from Iraq and I know what he went through. Some of the best people in this country are soldiers and I support them regardless of what others say. Great post Puffin!

Ya...for all you fellow Vets out there, some Applebees locations are offering free meals to Vetsyesterday and today. Even if your local restaruan is not on the websites list, call your local branch and ask. Went and got my free lunch yesterday., Golden Corral is also doing their free meal for Vets on the 17th. Home Depot and Lowes are both offering 10 percent discounts all this week to Vets as well. Perfect time to stock up on supplies.

Thanks for the discounts mojostat. Today is hubbys bday and we were going to a fancy restaurant to celebrate. Maybe now we'll just do Applebees and save us a little dough. ;) :p

Freedom isn't free. I appreciate everything our veterans have done for my wonderful country. Thanks! :D

Some of the best years of my life serving this great country, when i was overseas, and doing my job, its nice to think someone appreciated what we did in the name of freedom, and i had the extreme pleasure to work with the Canadian, British, French and German navy as well. Thanks to all those who give thanks!

Someone has to build your base, toilets, command and medical buldings. Alnong with your hospitals and storage facilities. Plus if you want an airstrip...guess who you have to get on the horn?

Seabees.

I have never stepped foot on a naval ship other than to take a tour of the kittyhawk when it came to port in guam.

BM1 huh? How long were you in?

I was a petty officer 2nd class (SCW, Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist) and a pretty good diesel and heavy machinery mechanic. I can literally strip a hummer in one day provided I have the proper equipment.

I have operated in both combat and disaster relief, bult schools in korea, taken fire and duct-taped a few marines to their racks on a multi national training excercize in the middle of nowhere in Australia. Good times with Spec-War there.

...man...those seals sure know how to party...
