My first closet grow, 4 strains

hello every one,
im starting kinda late i started germinating my seeds on the 4-6-08

planted in MG moisture control soil in keg cups w/1000w HPS, I later switched to a 1000w MH bulb (had the equipment but didnt know what i was doing

seeds planted on 04-08-08:
24 Blueberry
4 purple kush
6 Triple A
(lost 1 purple and 1 blue berry, and rescued a female clone from a garage)

i read bad things about MG soil and transplanted out into a 6x6" pot, as soon as they were rooted, i think 4-14-08

when i transplanted
i decide to go with a CANNA Brand ,COCO Medium and the Nutes they offered at my local indoor grow store

Note: when i transplanted into the COCO medium there was still some MG soil on the root ball so we will see how that goes

its 04-15-08 ok so this is the day after i transplanted them into the new pots and medium, i also had just switched the HPS bulb with the MH:headbang2:

Note: though i have great input from expirenced friends, i am very pissed for have so many plants in such little space. Granted i will have alot less females, but because there is so many plants it is not cost effective for me to us the nutes on them all, so i am going to flower early, pick out the females. then i will dose them on the nutes and pick a mother for my next round

P.S. i learned my lesson, im NEVER going to wast my time with seeds if i can get my hands on female clones (im learning)

They are still alive and kickin, but i think im a little week on the nutes (they are a very lite green)

so im starting on a more regular fert scedule

I would wait a few more days and then go ahead and flower them. That is a lot of plants in a small area. Your plan sounds good though. I wish you the best of luck with them. Keep us posted on your progress. Take care and be safe.

:hubba: so i upgraded the fans in my grow closet!! and got a digital temp gauge!!


i got a very strong fan to put on the lite, and It keeps the temps much cooler

the temp on the plants is reading at 76.4!!:banana: the still air above the lite is 83.7 I am very pleased!!!


PS. all i can say is HA HA to all those people dawgin on 1000W's

Im in a VERY VERY small closet for a 1000w, and things are going great

things are going good.

I pinched the tops on about half of them and im pretty shure i did it righ but i dont know whether the two stems next to where i pinched will become the new main shoots, or if two new main shoots will grow out of the spot that i pinched??? ......I guess i will find out soon enough

Any way everything is well accept for a few plants that just dont seem to want to live. there kinda shrivelling up and i dont know why.

But im kinda relieved b/c i was planning on more parishing from the begining.

....And the female clone that i rescued from the garage is doing much better and i am atleast guarented one female ha ha :woohoo:
also included my my Guard Dog for the grow "Semore" ( i have had him for a while

alright a few things 1st, the growth is really starting to pick up now and i really wanted to vegg them longer but it is apparent to me that i will need to flower very soon b/c they are going to get to big!!

im going to start flowering on the 29th of this month

That will be exactly 20 days of vegging !!! Not bad for Seeds

I will run a 1000W HPS so it should be fun:giggle:
Also i fixed the light problem, I needed to seal a light from getting in my grow room during the 12hours of darkness???? so i kinked the exhaust venting so light dosnt shine through the window and i covered the intake vent with a black vent cover so my room light dosnt get inside.

I started flowering on the 04/28

Thats 18 days of vegging

They have been flowering for 5 days

Qusetions about my temp??

Im running at 82f w/light,

and around 70f w/lights off.....thats not a problem right

I cant wiat till i can pull some of the males, there still in there 6 x6x6in pots and they need much bigger ones, i fear that it is holding them back

They look so green and healthy, great job. I love seeing the varience in strains (some short, some tall, some fat, some thin, some light and some dark) in the same pic, but despite their differences they are all comming together in harmony towards the same goal.

Keep up the good job.

I agree that bigger soil containers are in order asap, but I'm assuming that you will do that upon determination of gender which should be very soon. Do you plan on using ferts during budding?

ok, i started with 31 seedlings

the official results are in:
...14 females!!
.... 2 killed by me:gigglethey were the smallest, and i decided on twelve)
...12 repotted into bigger 2-3 gallon pots
....started full dosage of nutes including the booster additive

her are some pics, the fist pic was from a few days ago when i found signs of my 1st female, it took me so long to get this picture!!!
