New to growing, please tell me if i have the right idea

I recently got a 400 watt lamp from a friend who used to grow, said that it should be good to get up to 4 plants growing. I want to grow with soil and nutrients and the space I have is a small closet, do I need ventilation for the plants and if anything else is wrong please let me know,

I pop a CO2 cartridge every cpl of days for mine and leave the door open when I can. Mine seem to be fine. Try to get some foil for the walls. Check out my grow. http://www.marijuanapassion.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18804
