I'm currently growing my first plant (white widow) and I'm thoroughly enjoying the journey. I'm still in the vegetative stage, however i was wondering what lighting should I use for the flowering stage? I'm currently running a 400watt HPS bulb in a sun system canopy.

Welcome Joseph. Couple of quick things. HPS is a light used in flower not veg. When you flip that light would be fine. I use a 400w Metal Halide in veg. Next, what is that white stuff on your leaves??? Looks like Power Mildew to me. If it is that needs attention immediately. And a 3 issue....for six weeks that plant should be much bigger. Something is impeding growth.

Yes, this has definitely been a trial and error journey, I definitely had issues with it in the beginning ( was a clone ). As far as the white dots, I've been using a Trifecta spray against pests mildew and mold. In the beginning I've had a few leaves turn yellow so I purchased this spray and so far no more yellow leaves. I spray on and underneath the leaves every other evening toward the end of the light cycle for the day

Ok on the white residue but I would doing some reading going forward. You will find by doing this you will be more proactive rather than reactive. Meaning doing it right is a lot easier than constantly trying to solve existing problems. Plenty of into here in the beginners forums.

Appreciate all the advice I can get. With that said, this is my first plant ever. I'm not expecting to be an expert right off the bat. I'm here to learn and enjoy the process. If I can yield an ounce out of this plant I'll be very happy. Ill be collecting 2 or 3 clones off of this plant, so hopefully with time, experience, and learning ill be able to yield better results.

I just started sprinkling a little bit of this stuff on the outer edge of the pot. I also water with smart tea every other watering.

Hi Joe
Question Did ou just spray something on the leaves? (Look Shiney )
If so you should only apply any foliage sparys just before lights out. Otherwise you will burn them leaves under the high heat lights.
Hard to tell if that white stuff is fuzzy or just shiney from being sprayed.

I mist the foliage before I go to bed. My refrigerator filtered water gives me 6.7ph so I use that water to mist as well

OK now Im confusing you
So you did just mist the plant with water Yes?
I believe the white stuff is that water reflexing the lights off leaves and not PM, I coud be wrong

But you turned off light for the night after doing so.

Lol.....the timer is set for the light to be on from 6am - midnight, i mist the foliage at around 10pm every night. Then ever other night I spray Trifecta on the leaves and underneath the leaves
