Painting light shades

Don't know if anyone does this, but I plan on painting my light shades. They are old shades, galvanized or aluminum, and are really dull. I bought some Tremclad gloss white spray paint. Will this work? Is gloss the right crap to use, or flat? I know that u are supposed to use flat white for walls, but I figured gloss would be better for the shade. Let me know if I am way outa left field for this one. CH

Flat white is more reflective than gloss, for sure.

Initially I went for the flat, but the chic helping me convinced me to go for the gloss. Still got the receipt, so it's going back for some flat. Thanks Hick.
