Is it normal for the run-off ph to be 5.6, I water with 6.5 seems like a big difference.

I don't ever worry about my run off PH. Everything that goes in is ph'd to 6.5 and i don't use any of that prenuted crap, so I don't see the need.

What are you using for nutes?

I use teas so I do not pH them prior to using. If I think a tea I brew has a high pH. I will water with a low pH prior to feeding the teas

I try to get my soil balanced so that I do not have the need to constantly check pH.

I do check my soil pH when I first make a batch up or when I see problems with my girls.

With your pH being so low I would try to find out why, if it is the nutes or the soil.
