funny i run 2 400W HPS lamps in my 4x4 area and get great results and didnt BBF say that he runs 2 fixtures in that area if so he should be covered just fine. Oh and the HTG bulbs also boast of 55K lumen too, though even new the mean lumen of it is only about 53,500.

Hey Dubbaman- I think the issue is that I'm using older fixtures with magnetic ballasts that aren't as efficient as the newer digital ballsts. The bulbs I use are actually 360w putting out about 40,000 lumens- but according to Tater I'm not getting that many lumens out of my older units.

Still getting decent results- here's a pic of 2 still going, my Twin Girls.

Thank you Thorn- and ooh, the smell- sweet!

Huh? Agromax and Growbright 400HPS put out 55,000 each. The cheap-o bulbs from HTG put out 50,000.

Only with a new bulb and a digital ballast. If you are using a magnetic ballast they are much less efficient. Also those Agromax bulbs only hit their full potential at 430 watts NOT 400 watts, so you would need a ballast that can put out 430 watts.
