I was at a buddies house earlier and talked to him about lst and he decided he was going to try it without doin research. I tried to tell him to look up on it before doing it but he didnt want to hear it. bottom line is that he tried to bend the stalk of his 4 foot sativa(not sure the strain) and crack the stem broke clean in two about a foot up the plant, poor kid almost looked like he was going to cry.. any ways moral of the story is dont try to to do somthing that u dont have alot of knowledge of.. I still havent tried it but im thinking about it for my next grow..

Yeah that why you lst much earlier when the plant is a lot more flexible. On my last grow I was lsting a plant and broke the main top so I cloned it. The weird thing was by accidently topping it, it made the plant fill into a bush 3 times faster then the rest, so I now use a combination of lst and hst. Was his plant flowering????

Oh man,
I can see that happening, and yeah I can imagine he probably was ready to ****. What a bummer, BUT all is not lost yet. The plant can be supported and if he wasn't flowering I would still try to get some clones. Obviously the plant would need some first aid so yeah it is sorta goofy I guess that's ok to giggle at.

Moral of story: go easy, go slow, think it through if you don't know.

I've done the SAME THING. I took 5 clones form the broken branch - they have pistils on them and and they are rooting like crazy! 3 I kept in the 12/12 room (experiment - they're still growing bud) and 2 I put in the humidity dome.


so tell your friend all is most certainly not lost. worst case scenario - he gets less yeild now but he also gets clones which = PROFIT!
