2200 Watts

Yeah, you need to look at how many lumens you are getting for those watts. T5HO floros put out around 92-95lumens per watt and the HIDs vary according to the bulb and ballast size and type. The CFLs only put out between 60-75lumens per watt.

A 10x10 is 100sqft. for veg in that whole space you will need at least 300,000 lumens, and for flowering you will need at least 500,000lumens.

Ok there are 2-600 watt hortilux lamps and 1-1000 watt hortilux lamp. I think each one has 90,000 lumens but from the way it sounds that's still not enough to cover the room as that is nowhere near 500,000 lumens.

Thats going to be tricky to get 3 lamps like that to cover a square room. 4ea. 600s would rock it though. Oh what I would do with 10 by 10. Hell Id love 6 by 6 lol. My suggestion would be to make the room a tad smaller like 6 by 10 and your lighting should do fine.

Yeah, if you are using the whole space all at once it might be a little underlit, but if you divide it up a bit so that you can access the plants within the room, then you should be able to do it. I personally would look into getting some reflective material to make curtain dividers and divide it into 2 spaces.

That way you can trap all the light right up against the plants. Plus it will allow you to run 2 separate grow rooms that you can utilize for different strains or for different harvest cycles. I have my space set up so that I have 3 separate flowering areas that are layed out to harvest a month apart from each other. :)

Great insight. Thanks alot guys. I'll consider everything.

i think youll have plenty of light with what you have if they are placed properly

"1000" = 145000 Lumens... 5-k per sq ft = 29 sq ft 5x6 MAX
"600" - 90000L ... 20 is pushing it (5x4) MAX
"400"= 45000 L ...9 sq. ft 3x3 MAX
"250"= 27000L... 5 sq ft 2x2.5

Ok there are 2-600 watt hortilux lamps and 1-1000 watt hortilux lamp.
2x600 (90k lum) + 1-1k (145k Lum) 180+145= 325 k lum..or sufficient for 60 sq ft. Just over half of that room.

:yeahthat: You're severely underlit for the size room you say you plan to use. If you separate the room into smaller areas, you can get by, as has been said! Remember that you need proper ventilation to go along with all that light!!

I agree with Hick--these room sizes are too large if you want to maintain 5000 lumens per sq ft. IMO, it is always better to go by lumens per sq ft when figuring lighting.

Underlit conditions will give you light airy buds. Why not just make your room size(s) the size they need to be rather than trying to make your lights stretch to cover too much space. Do you have a separate veging space? What is your ventilation setup? It is going to take a bit of exhaust to cool 2200 watts.

Can't get past the simple math....

I am running (2) 1000w in a 5x9 and sometimes add a 400w just for kicks...I'm also currently in a (roughly) 8'x8' room and am running (3) 1000w and feel I could use a bit more, but the buds are nice as they are...could they be better? Probably!

I agree. I am running 2 600w in a 3 x 6.5 ft space.
