It's not the volts so much as it is the amperage (stated with tongue in cheek).

Found that out the hard way. I was reinstalling a smoke alarm in a now defunct hospital after putting in a grid ceiling. 32 volts, no biggie. My bare arm touched the grid just as my hands touched the wires. Felt like Hulk Hogan powerslammed my fanny into the scaffold. Alarms go off, the fire doors start slamming, and maintenance comes running down to see what happened, and then quickly called the FD to cancel the rig that was heading our way. Turns out it was 32V, but 30A.
