ph question

when i water the ph shoots up 10 points example 6.5 turns into 7.5. is this some sort of sign that something is wrong with the medium.cani expect this through the life of the soil? i know i can water with 5.5 to make it 6.5.but is this an early sign ofsalt build up or nutrient lock? all answers are appreciated thanks

maybe a sign that what your feeding it has a high ph

i dont know. I use distilled and only allow certain fertz in my soil and i have never had a problem so far....never even checked the ph:giggle:
hopefully i didnt just jinx myself

Test your PH of your water, then test it again after you add nutes.

Then sit your pot on a plate or something else that will catch the 'run off' (the the liquid that comes out the bottom of the container)

Test the 'run off' and see what its PH is.

I suspect your growing medium is altering your PH.

the run off is what i have been testing the nutrient solution has a ph of 5.5 the run off is 6.5 its a big spread imo

What nutes are you using?

ya it has been pre nuted bio grow nutes

What is its NPK?

Its best to grow in non nuted soils, with pre nuted soils your adding nutes on top of nutes and have no control of what your flooding the roots with.
